an oceanside retreat

I am so grateful for a mini oceanside retreat we had two weeks ago. The view outside our balcony was gorgeous, especially when it was raining at night.

The fireplace kept us cozy and warm.

So did this little guy.

The next morning, the sand was perfect for building sandcastles.

And the weather was just right for trying out our kite with Grandma.

And giving it a shot on his own.

With budget cuts looming at work and the stress of trying to make the right decision for kindergarten next year, this was the perfect chance to stop, relax, feel thankful, and enjoy what really matters the most.
